Hello John Do you know where I can go to look at the records of the Dalmeny Parish. I have been unable to find any birth records for my ggrandfather , his wife and 9 children. They were all born in [Edinburgh] but I think I may find them in the parish records as that is where the parents got married .although the copy of their mariage cert. gives his name as ROBERT WILSON , his parents as DAVID WILSON AND MARGARET WILSON MS NEILSON. yet they we BUCHANANS. I know that it must be their cert. as her mother is EUPHEMIA KNIGHT MS SCARTH. fathers name is James yet I have newspaper cutting which calls him Captain Philip Knight. I also know that they the family have given wrong dates and names at times ,ggfather had taken 17 years to report death of his wife and only because he wanted to remarry , which I still dont know if he did.
