Hello there Linda, I have not been able to establish accurately beyond 1800 just who/where my MOFFATs are, as yet. Still very much my work in progress......... (aren't they all) I am fairly sure that they are from the East Lothian area, the later generations are most certainly there. I have been compiling a database of East Lothian MOFFAT Births, Christenings and Marriages which you might like to look through, it is definately a work in progress, and transcribed as I found them so not guaranteed as correct ! http://www.geocities.com/cmoffatnz/ As to KEDGLIE/KEDZLIE I have only in the last few months made some progress on this family. I think that the spelling was very much phonetic and so variations are quite different. I managed to find the people I was looking for thanks to some help from some of these wonderful listers who provided me with the BVRI information KEDGLIE, Henry Turnbull Christening Gender: Male Birth Date: 25 Jun 1796 Christening Date: 3 Jul 1796 Recorded in: Tranent, East Lothian, Scotland Father: William KEDGLIE Mother: Alison TURNBULL Source: FHL Film 1067861 Dates: 1750 - 1826 The names TURNBULL and KEDZLIE appear consitantly throughout my husbands family Beyond this I am still searching, but I will keep your info on my database and if anything comes along I will forward it to you Good luck Carol ----- Original Message ----- From: Linda R.
