Hello from San Jose California USA!!!!!! It is always exciting to see when another researcher is looking for simlilar people! I am glad to see the weather is so great in Australia! We are having 70's during the day and 50's at night...............balmy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have very little information on my Begbies. The information I have came from Diane McNichol's book "Prestonkirk: The People of 1851". I have been trying to confirm this information and find more for years and have been unsuccessful. I have received enquiries from several wonderful, helpful people here on this list but have yet to find any concrete information. I will send you my line information off-list to see if you see anything familiar. I have a feeling that sooner or later someone will come up with the Begbie information that will blow our investigations wide open! There is an Isobel Begbie born 10 May 1730 at Moreham, East Lothian, Scotland in my husbands family tree. Her eldest sister Agnes b 28 February 1728, married Robert Careel (spellings have change through the years!). The parents of and Isobel were William Begbie and Margaret Raeburne. I hope this may be of some help to you. I am writing from a very cool Spring day in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. Alba gu bràth!
