I was writing to tell you that my full name is Robert Thomson Millar. My G.Grandfather was called Alexander Thomson ( b. around 1846 ) and came from Buckhaven in Fife His wife was called Christian ( aka. Kirsten ) whose maiden name was also Thomson. Their children were --- Agnes ( my grand mother ) Robert ( b 1888 ) Kate Alex ( b 1886 ) Andrew ( b 1889 ) Christina Elizabeth They all lived in the Harbour Terrace and he was a Fisherman. I was also born in the Harbour Terrace in 1935.I have my Family Tree for the Millar family ( which was compiled by my cousin Ben Millar ) and have recently been interested in the Thomson line. I am in communication with a lady called Christine Thomson who now lives in Melbourne Australia and lived in Dirleton. She is also tracing her Thomson line and we were wondering if there was any connection between us. She says her family were mainly connected to the Farming community while mine is all Fishermen I'm afraid I am a bit short of dates on the info I have given you but I hope to get more at a later date. I don't know if this helps you in any way but there is just a chance that it will. By the way are you related to the Thorburns who lived in Victoria Rd. in North Berwick? Bob Millar.
