His father mygggrandfather was a James Hogg (employed as a Groom) who had married Isabella Thomson in1834 in the Parish of St Cuthberts, Edinburgh I have not managed to find out any more about James Hogg or any siblings for William Hogg yet. 2. This John Dunbar & Elizabeth Elliott could be related to ours. Does anyone have access to any Quaker records? Please respond to edisup2@attglobal.net ----- Original Message ----- Sent: Thursday, December 18, 2003 8:59 AM Subject: Re: Fw: George's Dunbar's marriage Hi Mary Jo, I went through everything that I could think of, but no luck on this one. There are two entries now on ancestry.com under the family trees. One is pretty recent--June, I think. You might want to get in touch with that person and see if he knows anything, but he didn't have much on the website. I did find something interesting. I saw an index of quakers in PA. There was a John Dunbar and an Elizabeth Elliott listed in the index, but not information. Judy

    3. I now know that the Mary Darling was mentioned in what must have been the Kirk Session Records, " lying in scandal since August 1842." In Stow 24 Dec 1842, she " confessed that she had brought forth a child in fornication, with David Dodds in the month of August 1842 " her father was James Darling . David Dodds, who had previously implied to James that " he had been guilty of fornication with Mary, & the child now lately born, by her, was his, at the same time, refused to achknowledge himself the father of said child. " At this time we do not know who the child is. But, we do know, that David Dodds did not show with his family in 1851 census, with the comment that his wife, ( Helen Dods ( m.s. Lockie ), " was deserted by her husband, supported by the Parish Board " David Dod(d)s & Helen Lockie, are the line that a few of us are from. But, we do not know what became of David Dodds. ( probably chased away by the angry father , James.) We can only assume that it was the same David. However it gets very confusing as brothers, sisters and cousins of the same generations all seem to have the same names! When was your grandmother born and did any other family members emigrate to New Zealand? I will email you with my information to see if you think we are connected.
