Carol, I saw your posting of interests. Although I can't tie in w/ the names you listed, I wonder if you have any MOFFATS and etc further back. My line traces back to Johne MOFFAT, b 1609 in Tranent, and Janet DOWGALL. These 2 had 6 children, including my direct ancestor James MOFFAT, who m Janet KAIDGLEY (notice the similarity in spelling to you KEDGLIE. I've also seen Janet's spelled as CAIDGLEY.) Hello Gil First thing that came to mind when I read the word Perflit was another similar word - Purfleet. Its a place somewhere south or south east England. All moved between Haddington and Edinburgh during their lifetimes. Lantwheller/Langweeler, Henry is an absolute mystery. His daughter, Margaret was born 1800. She married my ggg-grandfather. I have just received word from HMSO in Edinburgh that the webmaster of the East Lothian GenWeb project has been granted permission to publish transcripts of the 1861 census for East Lothian parishes on the Internet. As soon as the document is signed and returned by post, we will be working on getting the first three parishes -- Aberlady, Athelstaneford, and Bolton -- online. This was something that was initiated almost two years ago after a very kind woman in Canada offered to share her transcripts with us. Thanks so much for your patience and hopefully by the end of the summer we'll have some results. Will keep the list posted! Hello Elaine The two dates you have re marriage of James Somerville and Mary Orkney are actually the dates of their banns (intention to marry) being called in the Parishes to which they both belonged. One must have belonged to Ayton Parish and the other to Coldingham Kay

They had David, William, James, Thomas and Robert. I've really only looked at the LDS site and so I haven't found a marriage date but I would imagine it was circa 1820. There are possibilities for marriages of the children in East Lothian towns. Would like to hear if you've stumbled across my names during your research.
