I'm still trying to find more Robertsons in the Innerwick/Oldhamstocks/Co'path area but the ones I have are John Robertson who married Ann Lisle at Innerwick on 1 December 1758. Their son David was born on 17 Nov 1763 at Innerwick but I lose track of them after that. I need another trip to Scotland to traipse around the cemeteries and also get into the Scots Registry in Edinburgh. If I find anything that connects us, I'll let you know. Won't be going to Scotland till at least next year I think. Cheers, Gil Morgan

Recent rediscovered info suggests that there is a "bust" of a Notman possibly in the square of an as yet unknown market town in Scotland . Its likely to be somewhere in Peeblesshire /Lothians area. Has any one come across it and can let me know its whereabouts? Also interested in the origins of Notman Law just above the Megget reservoir and near to dollar and black Law. Got as close as the road allowed and maybe have a photo of it but thats it. Needless to say if there are any Notmans out there i'd be happy to hear from you. thanks. Colin Notman Southampton

Whilst visiting Athelstaneford last week I found two MORTON gravestones. (1) "In memory of James MORTON who died at Gilmerton, 13th April 1852, aged 47 years. Also of his Widow Jean BUCHANAN who died at Athelstaneford 6th April 1890 aged 78 years. And of their children James who died 2rd December 1846 aged 9 years and Christian who died 7th April 1854, aged 14 years". This family was present in Athelstansford Village in the 1841 Census. Does anyone know who James MORTON's parents were (he would be born about 1805)? As there were only a few Morton families in Athelstaneford I wonder if he was related to my 2x great grandmother Magdalene MORTON (born 1804). (2) "Erected in Memory of Robert HUME who died July 15th 1828, Aged 71 years, and of Agnes MORTON, his spouse who died March 6th 1797 aged 45 years". I found the parents for Agnes in Edinburgh, they were Robert MORTON and Helen HUNTER. I hope the above may be of interest and I look forward to hearing from anyone else researching the surname MORTON. The Athelstansford graveyard/Saltire memorial/Doocot are all worth a visit.
