Hi Tricia, I read with interest the PETRIES on your recent email. I'm trying to research my great grandmother Catherine PETRIE, born in Wick abt. 1855. She married in Glasgow in 1872, her husband was Andrew MOYES from Fife. On her marriage certificate she listed both of her parents as deceased, George PETRIE, Blacksmith and Elizabeth CAMPBELL, both of Wick. An Aunt of mine who lives in Canada has told me that we have SUTHERLANDS in our family tree.....in fact, she visited with them in Edinburgh just after the Second World War.... I can't find any birth certificate of Catherine PETRIE in Caithness, and the only record of her that I've found is in the 1861 census where she is listed as a servant (cowherd) at the farm of the BREMNER family named "Barnyards," she is listed as 12 years of age on this census report. Any help linking her to the PETRIES on your email would be appreciated! George Weston Suisun, CA
