Hi Don, I'm not sure if I can be of help to you in your search, but will tell you what I have. Also, I will send a copy of this on to the RootsWeb Caithness site to see if anyone else might be able to help you. In the 1841 census for Caithness, Wick there is a listing for William CAMPBELL born abt. 1786, Agricultural Labourer, age 55 and his wife Catherine SMITH, age 54 Living with them were their children: George, born abt. 1823...Ag labourer...age 18 !sabella, born abt. 1825.. " ...age 16 Elizabeth, born abt. 1827... " ...age14 This may be my great great grandmother Henrietta, born abt. 1829...scholar......age12 1851 Census The same William CAMPBELL is listed with his wife Catherine, but now his occupation is listed as Groomer of Year??? The only children listed are Elizabeth and Jane born 1832 It's possible that their son George may have emigrated to the US between the two Census data.... I have received information from Mary Clark that William CAMPBELL and Catherine SMITH married 14 June 1811 in Thurso. From this information they had 8 children, Alexander, David, Fanny, Catherine, William, GEORGE christened 5 May 1822 in Watten...also they had Isobel and Betty christened 20 Sept. 1827 in Harland. I'm not sure any of this helps but someone else may have information that would be helpful. George Weston
