Hi Stuart, No reason to think my Janet HENDERSON is yours, but I've got one with suspected Halkirk, Caithness origin. Mine was born c.1780, married Angus BANNERMAN in Kildonan, Sutherland 1802. Six kids born in Kildonan, then moved (back) to Halkirk where 2 more children born. That's the sum total of my information thus far. When I stop being so lazy, I'll order the marriage certificate and find out her parents' names and birth place (I hope). They are shown as parents of Janet HENDERSON when she died in Milton, near Wick in February 1855, aged about 80. Janet HENDERSON's death certificate shows that she was from Spital, Halkirk. In theory Janet HENDERSON was the mother of my g.g.grandmother, Elizabeth SUTHERLAND, whose parents were supposed to be John SUTHERLAND, a ploughman, and Janet (nee BAIN) from Halkirk.
