Davie, I don't think I have any connection to Bruce, but I do have connections to the Keith name in the Latheron area. I can't seem to find any information about your Angus Keith, other than his marriage to Jane Bruce in 1871. He doesn't seem to be in the 1881 Census anywhere in Scotland. Perhaps you could supply more details on Angus and his parents/siblings/offspring? I am the 2nd Great Grand-Nephew of Elizabeth Bain b. 12th May 1839 in Latheron m. William Keith 24th June 1859 in Latheron. William Keith b. 25th July 1836 in Latheron was the son of George Keith and Margaret McKenzie. I have no other information on William's parents or siblings. There were 15 Keith children born in Latheron between 1800 and 1854, but Angus doesn't appear among them. From the parents names there would appear to be only 5 or 6 families. In addition to the Keith/Bain link, there appears to be a Keith/Dallas link. As there were very few Dallas individuals in Caithness I believe I'm probably related to most if not all. The individuals concerned are Campbell Keith and Janet Dallas. Janet's father is John, but her birth pre-dates my ancestor John Dallas's marriage to his only known spouse (Elspeth Barnie).
