    2. Anne, Since he said in 1896 that he was domiciled in Pulteneytown, you might also find him there in the 1891 and/or 1901 censuses. I would start there before the 1861. And since the 1881 is so accessible and searchable, it would also be worth a check. I don't have a copy, but perhaps some kind soul on the List could have a look in the 1881 CD for you right now (hint, hint, nudge, nudge).
