Jessie Tait was born abt 1819 in Scotland. She married in Australia, 1852. It is unknown when she came to Australia, or whether she travelled with family or not. She is believed to have come from Caithness, but searching the GROS, am unable to find her. There are these 2 possibles: There is an un-named daughter born to a James Tait, 14 Aug 1821, at Thurso, Caithness. Does anyone know who she is? There is also a Jessie Tait born to a William Tait & Janet Melrose, 29 Mar 1819, Crichton, Midlothian. Does anyone have any further information on either of these families? regards Lyn Wolf Australia
