Hi, For decades I have been stumped re my HORNE ancestors. My G-G Grandmother was Johanna Campbell HORNE. On every document I have she is stated to have been born at Wick (or near), Caithness. Her parents being John HORNE and Mary CAMPBELL. By the time she married in 1846, Edinburgh (to John HISLOP) she is said to be residing in Edinburgh. She died in New Zealand. The information at the Early Settlers Museum (which was supplied by her) states that her father was an Officer in the East India Company and her birthdate is stated as 28 August 1821. Now you think this would be easy????? If I didn't know better, I'd swear she didn't exist!!! I have searched the OPRs, online, using every trick I can think of but have not been able to find her or her parents! I would be grateful for any offers of help or any clues for where to look next.
