    3. Hello Listers, Reading a film "Caithnes Inhibitions" circa 1700's. Amongst the "Notables" suing each other was a list of Wick inhabitants in rent arrears which may be of interest to some. Possibly putting an occupation to a name. 12 Feb 1717 owing 10pounds Scots to William Calder. All in Wick. William Anderson, merchant John Coghill, shoemaker William Henderson, shoemaker ?Michael Lamb, seaman James Williamson, tailor George Miller, shoemaker David Lyall, cooper John Sutherland, weaver James Harper, wright Alexander Lamb, shoemaker William Abernethie, Inndweller Donald Sutherland, merchant. Donald Sutherland is often mentioned, not the others. Mark, the "legal beagle" a question. Reading "the horn being blown or sounded three times." Does this refer to why or about why "Hornings" is also used? These writs or whatever also alway mention previous Hornings. Barbara Stirling
