My ggrandfather (in his 30s ca. WWI) named his fifth child's middle names for a man named Cecil RICE. Family lore has it that this man saved my ggrandfather's life, but even if he didn't, i'd like to know whether he came from Caithness. My ggrandfather would have had contact with other fishermen during the herring runs or might have served with him during WWI on the H.M.S. Imperieuse.
