Janet was married to James Gordon on December 7th 1819. There is a headstone to Jessie McBarnet and her husband, James Gordon, found today in the old St. Columba's churchyard, which I believe is in the parish of Kingussie. James Gordon is shown as a shepherd in Phoness in the Kingussie Parish Register on the birth of two of his and Janet (Jessie) McBarnet's children, Helen, born November 14th and baptized December 6th 1821, and James, born December 7th, 1823 and baptized January 6th, 1824. According to the headstone, there were at least two other children, Jessie born c. 1820 and Alexander born c1835. So it would seem Jessie is the half-sister of Donald and Helen McPhersons children. Donald and Helen had nine children altogether unfortunately none survived to bear them any grandchildren. To place myself in this picture my gt/gt/gt/gt grandfather James was brother to Donald McBarnet. Donald was first born to James and Beatrice McBarnet, James Jnr was second born then came William, Mary and Alexander. I hope this is of some help and would be interested to know which of James and Jessie's children you are descended from. I have much more information regarding the McBarnet line and would gladly share it if you wished. Andy McBarnet
