I have an Elizabeth Duncan born abt 1789 and died 27 August 1872, age 83. I don't have where she was from but she married John MacIntosh, of Marnoch, Banffshire, s/o James MacIntosh & Teresa Brown. John had sailed for Nova Scotia (date unknown) and the next year John's brother, George and Elizabeth Duncan came to Halifax. I understand she and John were married there, (Can't find anything yet) and managed an inn or tavern. They then moved to Sherbrooke, Guysborough County, Nova Scotia and settled there. He is listed in the census as being a ship carpenter. Their first child was born about 1813. They had 8. Elizabeth adn John are both buried in Sherbrooke, Nova Scotia. I hope this is useful.
