He was born June 30 1835 in Grange Banffshire and was the son of Angus McDonnell and Ann Thomson. She was born Sept 22 1839 at the Brae of Essie Rhynie Aberdeenshire and was the daughter of John Hay and Barbara Smith. They married Jun 12 1862 at Rhynie. I know that they had one son John Hay McDonnell who was born at Rhynie Sept 3 1862. I would be grateful if anyone could give me any information regarding this family as they just seemed to disappear from Rhynie after their son was born. James M Hay Florida
