He married twice, firstly HELEN WOOD around 1831/2 and then to ANN BOYNE in 1855. His age on his death certificate (1881) is given as 73, (birth then would be c1808) and his parents are stated as JOHN ANGUS - Private Soldier and ELIZABETH ROSS. It also mentions both his wives. Now, on his marriage certificate to ANN BOYNE in June 1855 at Boyndie, he gives his date/place of birth as unknown and unregistered but believed to 1817 in Edinburgh, and his parents as WILLIAM ANGUS and ANNE ROSS. His daughter ELSPET ANGUS (by Helen Wood) is my g.g grandmother. Any help greatly appreciated.
