    3. Hi Kay. Fine, fine! - still researching on several fronts. 'My' Adamsons are headed by James ADAMSON and Elizabeth ADDISON. He was probably bpt 5-7-1780 Boyndie to William Adamson and Isobel Lovie. She was probably bpt 13-7-1781 Boyndie to John Addison and Janet Simpson. This is their MI: "Erected by James ADAMSON, merchant Whitehills, in memory of his children, Isabella, who died Novr.13th 1816, aged 3 years; Jane, who died Novr. 22nd 1821 aged 13; also James who died October 20th, 1833, aged 21 years, a young man of unassuming manners, who enjoyed the respect of all who knew him, and is sincerely lamented by his sorrowing friends; and Elizabeth, who died 28th August 1835, aged 17; also Alexander who died 28th August 1841, aged 16 years. The said James ADAMSON died on 5th February 1848 aged 67 years, and Elizabeth ADDISON, his wife, on 17th December 1848, also aged 67." Another son, John, had a 'fling' with my gt-grandcmother Helen DUFF. The children of that illeg son (also named John ADAMSON) claimed the huge 'Adamson Inheritence' in the 1930s - but that's another story.... There are quite a few Adamsons in Whitehills. The 1819 date (even give or take two years!) means she couldn't be one of 'my' Adamson/Addison family. Regards Howard

    3. Howard thanks for the prompt reply. The Adamson is middle name Jessie Adamson Elliot, which I presume means that the Adamson side was a grandparent, I do not know if Jessie was the eldest child, her mother was Ann Lawrance and father John Elliot, not married. Father of Ann was James Lawrance but do not know who the mother was so could be a connection on the mothers side. Also have Addison's in Boyndie Margaret Addison married James Murdoch 1844, several children of that family. I would not be surprised if there is not a connection through James Adamson and Elizabeth Addison as Ann Lawrance was born around 1789, can you let me have the family tree of James Adamson and Elizabeth Addison if you have it.
