This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ReC.2ACI/2805.1 Message Board Post: Hi Christy, Your query has been passed onto me by a friend in Oz. I am something of an expert on the Fletts of Findochty, (Rathven Parish) and will do some research for you in my own archive sources. Bullen was a tee-name (a family by-name to differentiate the various common names like Flett, Smith, Murray Cowie etc etc). The mother would have been Margaret Cowie, "Bullen" and the custom back then was to drop the actual surname and just refer to people by their teename. There was a marriage between an Alexander Flett & a Margaret Cowie on 30/6/1831. The 1841 census shows a son Alex aged 3 then. I'll do a lot more digging and let you have what I find if you will let me have an email address as this is probably noot the right medium for all the detail. You can "meet" us at http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/sheena_charles/ Charles Flett
