Dear Listers, At long last I've managed to make that visit to Edinburgh and managed to move ahead on a number of fronts. Some of you may remember that I was trying to solve a few mysteries about my Cunninghams from the Port Gorden area. 1. James Coull, born 1845 in Focabers to widow Jessie, was fathered by Charles Coull (on James' marriage entry described as a Master shoemaker, and from Jessies testimony to the Bellie session , Charles was of Bogmoon, and the child conceived before he went to his harvest! Does anyone know anything more about Charles? He wasn't keen to acknowledge his actions untl the Minister prevailed upon him in private! 2. David Cunningham, born 1832, and described as a Corporeal in the 19th Regiment was married in 1855 in Dundee, Forfar to Robina Hunter, daughter of Ann and Major Robert Hunter. I could find no more thereafter. I expect recordsof Army personnel will be in Kew, but does anyone know any more about the 19th, and where it operated after this date? Unless he got killed he certainly sounded as if he may have done rather better than the rest of his family! 3. Finally not all the records I wanted were at the Archives. I was hoping for the Premney marriages and births and also for Session Minutes. Are these in Aberdeen/ Cheers, mary
