The Family History Center where I volunteer here in central USA has all 1855 Civil Registration events for the county of Banff on microfilm indefinitely held here. Fees for ordering films will almost double across the US beginning this month, there may be people who'd like to order these films but find it out of their reach. I'm sure there are subscribers who don't live near a FHC. If you'd like to know the information on a Birth, Marriage or perhaps a Death that was registered in 1855, I have access to the image of the original handwritten documents [there were 2 pages of information per entry in 1855] and can send the information to you or post it to the Banff-L List. 1855 was the very best year for genealogical information, beginning 1856, there were fewer questions asked of the Informant. Please make the Subject line Banff Marriages 1855 or similar so I'll know its a request, I've offered this to other shires we have films for and need to know which county you are asking about. Send name, parish and expected date [use the IGI for Births and Marriage data]. There is no fee, I'd like to request that if I send you JPGs of the Registration, that you write up the data on the other events on that same page and post it to the Banff-L List. Births had 5 entries per page, Marriages had 2 per page and Deaths had 3. They'll then be found in the Archives of this List. Hope to some of your questions will be answered with these films, can't let them sit here and gather dust......Meg Greenwood / Oklahoma USA
