    2. I actually saw the distillery being bombed. I was walking back to Macduff from Tarlair when a lone aircraft came in from the sea and dropped a single bomb. There was a large column of smoke and flame. Next day, my grandfather, drove past it and reported that there were cows lurching about in the field next door, thoroughly drunk from lakes of whisky. I wonder if they charged extra for their milk! Elizabeth Gabriel

    3. Hi Elizabeth, How amazing to think you were a witness to the actual bomb. Was anyone hurt? The story was that the cows couldn't get to their feet to be milked. Was it the film Bonnie & Clyde where a story was told of an old teetotal lady who drank milk laced with whisky and said "don't sell that cow!!"
