Is anyone studying the DUFFs, Earls of Fife, founders of Dufftown, MPs for Banff and builders of Duff House.? I am particularly interested to know about the household at Duff House in the late 1700s and early 1800s and if there are any records of the servants. I have read the gravestone in Banff of John HARDEN, at Duff House and am keen to find any others who were in service to the DUFFs. Banff Cemetery : (236) Sacred to the memory of John Harden of Ardyne, who died at Duff House on the 31st day of December, 1810, in his 61st year. Universally esteemed for the uniform propriety and incorruptible integrity that marked his conduct during forty years that he was employed in the service of the late James and Alexander, Earls of Fife.
