Here's one that may be relevant: 171) This stone was erected by order of the Right Honourable James, Earl of Fife, in memory of Alexander Imlach, John Strachan, William Murgauch, and William Cruickshank, four of his Lordship's gardeners, who lost their lives attempting to cross the River Dovern in a small boat at the King's Foord when the river was greatly swell'd by rain upon the 14th of June, 1768. And of Alexander Andrew, who in going home to the farm of Corskie in a dark night missed his way, and lost his life in the Gellyburn upon the 2nd of December, 1774 . Elizabeth Gabriel
