Hi Anne Further to my posting, I should have mentioned that although you have a query against the middle name Birnie for John Adam this will be correct as his mother's maiden name was Mary Ann Birnie. Also, my research indicates that Alexander had the middle name Chivas but where this comes from I have no idea. Ian A C Scott
