I have a Margaret BARRON who married Thomas DUNCAN at Botriphnie, 19 August 1735. They lived at Drummuir until about 1745, then Newburgh (both in Botriphnie). Their children: 1. Robert (1736) 2. James (1738) 3. Margaret (1740) 4. Jean (1742) 5. Agnes (1744) 6. Jannet (1746) 7. Jean (1747) 8. Thomas (1750) 9. Janet (1752) 10. Kathrine (1754) The above Robert may be the Robert DUNCAN who married Margaret BROUSTER (or BREWSTER) 1763 and farmed at Bridgeford, Morlach and latterly Drywells, Cabrach. Hi Bill I am remembering back years ago, but when I was still in my hometown of Dunedin, New Zealand, I helped a local chap (John Milne?) research his Duncans/Grants in Botriphnie. I cannot recall the name of his Duncan ancestor, but that particular Botriphnie-resident Duncan tenant farmer ancestor married a Janet Grant (I'm fairly sure Janet was her first name). I am talking early to mid 19th century. I remember there were also gravestones for his branch at Botriphnie. All very vague, but perhaps you have an undiscovered New Zealand branch of your Duncans...? I am afraid my notes are in storage back home in NZ.
