my husband's great-grandmother was Jean/Jane Duncan who married George Pirie in Keith and Fordyce in Dec 1847.. she had one son she named Alexander b 1848, (my husband's grandfather) and she died May 1850.. at Allachardoch, Keith.. her age at death puts her birth at about 1814-5.. and from records at Aberdeen Family History center.. I found her parents were Alexander Duncan and Janet Wilson of Bellyhack, Botriphnie.. I can find no other IGI birth that comes close.. so I assume that this is correct.. and perhaps she was working in Fordyce when she married.. as she was 32 yrs old.. I also have marraige of William to Jane Grant in 1847.. and Thomas to Magdelaine Shearor in 1835.. from IGI there were 10 children born to Alexander and Janet Duncan.. I have no idea about the other 7.. George, Mary, Katherine, Margaret, Alexander, Phinella, and Isobel would be happy to hear about any other Duncan connections to this family.. regards from USA, Colette Pirie
