Looking for details of the family and parentage of James SCOT who married Elspet TAYLOR 19 MAY 1782 Grange, Banff (IGI: M111562). I'm trying to establish the identity of Margaret SCOTT (married) who died age 84 on 17-Dec-1856 at Aultmore, Deskford. Her parents were recorded as William CLARK and Ann CLARK ms SIMPSON. I think she is the Margaret CLARK who married Alexander SCOTT in 1798 (marriage recorded in Grange and Rathven OPRs). It is possible that this Alexander SCOTT and James SCOT are brothers, also that James SCOT was the one who turns up at Craibstone, Deskford in 1851 age 93 (with a grandaughter Ann SUTHERLAND ms SCOTT and family).
