Hi James. Their marriage certificate should tell you their respective parents. My interest in this is through Mary F Murphy (see below), since I have an Alexander Murphy / Elspet Geddes family and Murphy is not a common name in the immediate area, and she and William Murphy are just about the only two outwith 'my' Murphy line; furthermore the names Robertson and McKenzie and Morrison and even Nicol all turn up in my search for my early Robertson/Moir/Geddes/Watson in Portsoy. What can you add? This is surely Angus Campbell in 1881: Dwelling: School Hendry, Fordyce (Portsoy), Banff, Scotland Volume 153-2 EnumDist 4 Page 31 Catherine NICOL M 41 F Inverness Wife (Head) Ag Labs Wife Betsy MORRISON U 16 F Inverness Dau Dom Ser * Mary F. MCKENZIE 3 F Portsoy, Banff Dau * Elizabeth Morrison was born 17-11-1865 Inverness to Donald Morrison and Catherine McIntosh, who married 22-5-1857 Knockbain, Ross&Cromarty. (So there must be other children - not checked.) * Mary Flora Murphy was born 4-2-1872 Fordyce to William Murphy and Catherine McIntosh, who married 10-12-1866 Keith (as William Murphy and Catherine Morison). As William Murphy and Catherine McIntosh they had two other children: Catherine Murphy 12-5-1867 Keith and Forbes Murphy 11-2-1868 Fordyce (presumably Portsoy). * It would seem that Catherine McIntosh married a third time, this time to a Nicol, and had another son. ** Alexander Ross McKenzie was born 6-2-1868 Fordyce to Isabella McKenzie, therefore I presume illeg. ** George Robertson was born 18-8-1874 Fordyce to Hugh Robertson and Isabella McKenzie, also presumably illeg for I have not found a marriage and I reckon the father turns up unmarried in 1881 boarding in Old Deer.
