Hi James, The Church Street I mentioned is in Portsoy (the Fordyce 1881 census reference of "153-2" is Portsoy village). I have references (at various times) to family staying at these locations in Church St Portsoy: nos 7,8,9,11,12,15,16,36, 50,54 and various unnumbered. The Church St in Fordyce doesn't seem to have been numbered in the records I have, being for 1901 and 1933 (the latter may be to Elmbank, which I think is actually East Church St). There's also been family-owned cottages named Hawthorn Cottage, The Yardies and Roseau which may be West Church St rather than Church St. Sandy Riach says (see recent posting) that the numbers in Church St changed over the years, so I wouldn't know at present how to relate a specific number at a specific date to a specific dwelling.
