My name is Michelle. I've just joined the list. I'm looking for Kate-Maitland (Milly) Hunter. She and her brothers were sent to Aberlour orphanage in 1882/3 when their parents died. She is mentioned in the 1881 census with her mother and family in Edinburgh then I have a record of her entering the orphanage as Catherine. She became a bond servant to someone while in her early teens and died at age 14 according to family lore. I've seen no death record for her and the orphanage has no more records for that early. Have any of you come across a stray Hunter girl? I don't think in the census they mention bond servants. Thanks

Marjory/Marjorie is a name we do find occasionally within our REIDFORDs though. Do you have further info on James and Marjory, such as children (dates, where born, etc) and who they married? There might be clues if they have middle names. Let us know if you have any more info regarding your folk. Cheers, Toni ~ Ontario

I have STUARTS in Fifekeith; namely James STUART (d. 1839) a master mason reputed to have had a hand in building many Banffshire churches, and in particular, St. Rufus' Church in Keith. He married Margaret TAYLOR, who was from a family of bakers in Keith or Fifekeith. They had several children, all but two of whom emigrated to Canada. Of the latter two who stayed in Scotland, Charles STUART died young, and William STUART continued the bakery business in Keith. A daugher, married to a MACPHERSON or MCPHERSON was still living at Regent Street, Fifekeith, in 1924. William in Alberta Canada
