Here's a little something for the new year. All names extracted from the will and confirmation of Alexander Noble GEDDES Surgeon in Portsoy, who died 1 Jun 1832, his Will being dated 22 Feb 1826. This info has come via the new service whereby you can buy images over the net of the actual documentation: http://www.scottishdocuments.com/content/default.asp. I've done my best to interpret the writing, but cannot guarantee 100% accuracy. You should be able to copy/paste all this into a file with a CSV filetype, then import it into Excel to get a more readable list. Perhaps you can feedback to the List whether you can identify any of these people as your own. For my part I was hoping A.N.G. might have had something to say about his illegitimate child(ren?) [or even his siblings], but he is silent, and I can't tell whether his silence is because there were none or he didn't want them to inherit anything. However, he is careful to state that he will provide for the children born to him by his wife Catharine (which is of course different from providing for his children). For my part also, the names Crawford, Watson, Geddes and Forbes (as a forename and a surname) have all cropped up in various juxtapositions at various times - all relating to the relatively well-off of Portsoy - and none relating to my own Geddes and Watson lines as far as I can see (at the moment!).
