Can anyone identify this witness to the marriage of my gt-grandparents John WATSON and Helen DUFF on 27-Feb-1869 in Banff: literally "W Gerril Barron". The word Gerril is very unclear, and could be Gerrie. Possibly Gerrie and Gellie are synonymous, because a grandaughter was named "Maggie Gellie Smith LESLIE" in 1901. The other witness was Joseph CHAPMAN who I believe I've identified in the 1881 census living at 2 Reid St in Banff. The minister was R Bremner, Minister of Banff. Howard Geddes

Dustan's? I am beginning to believe that Samuel Dustan came to America as an orphan with another brother named Alexander Dustan. I found these names in the 1850 census for Porter County Indiana. There may have been a younger boy named Francis who lived with another family. Both boys lived with a family with the last name Smith. I went to the Morman database and found a Samuel Dustan with the exact year of birth born to James Dustan and Elspeth Smith. I think my next step is to write the church where this Samuel Dustan was baptisted on 2-1-1843 at Leochel-Cushnie, Aberdeen, Scotland
