Have a look at http://www.sfw.org.uk/books/summerland.html. There is an item there about William Morrison (1838-1902) who was born in Grange on 10 September 1838 and went to Jamaica. The IGI lists William, baptised 14 September 1838, among the nine children of John Morrison and Ann McIntyre, so it looks as if this is your man. Then have a look at http://scotskirk.anngel.com.jm/ministers.htm where you will see mentioned a second William Morrison, son of the first one, who was knighted. HTH Anne
Hi there Tim, You recently placed a list of names of interest to you including "...Lovie, Levenie, Leveny, Watson..." Knowing how common these names are, we may have a distant connection. Using my gg grandfather as a starting point, William Lovie b1821 and d1902 in Boyndie had a sister Margaret b1831. She m Alexander Levenie 1854 in Whitehills. They had Janet b1855 and Alexander b1859. Son Alexander would m Jane Pirie. Again using William Lovie, his parents were Mary Priest b1793 in Fordyce and John Lovie b 1791 in Boyndie. John's parents were Margaret Lovie b1767 in Boyndie and James Lovie b1791 also in Boyndie. Margaret's mother was Jannet Watson who m James Lovie of the Banff parrish. HTH Cyndie

Hi Kay, I'm sorry but I don't have an Adamson/Addison tree readily available. However I can send you off-list what I have got, if you have Lotus Wordpro installed. I don't have anything earlier on the Adamson/Addison lines - but I do know the Boyndie OPR in the IGI has fair coverage of both the Adamson and Addison families. There are loads of MIs involving Adamson, so there's plenty of fun to be had (not by me!) building families. The only thing I can add is that there just two other Boyndie MI (that I know of) mentioning Addison: "This stone is erected by John ADDESON, in Whitehills, in memory of his mother Elspet ROBERTSON, who died Nov.1st 1766 aged 64 years." "This stone is erected by Patrick SCAKEL and Janet AEDISON, hs spouse, at Scottsmill, for themselves and children viz: Patrick SCAKEL, some time at Mill of Bredock, who died July 24th, 1729; John, Ann, James, Jannet, John, Alexr., Margaret; Alexander their grandson." All this from the IGI, all 'only fitting candidates', all requiring confirmation. The main point for me is that all this doesn't lead back to my James Reid who married Elizabeth Grant 1757.
