    2. RE>>Our McFarlanes were born onTiree but christened, according to old LDS records, at Kilfinichen on end of Mull closest to Tiree. H.McFarlane Yes, yours is quite an interesting example of these multi-faceted inter-island connections, isn't it? My own MacDougalls started out on Mull, then some of their children came to Tiree, then some of those children's descendants moved to Coll. But even my original ancestors on Mull were said to have previously come from Islay. Given enough research, I wouldn't be surprised if every Tiree family could boast of at least some island-hopping. Both Mull and Islay have excellent genealogy websites, for anyone who thinks they have connections to one of those Islands: Isle of Mull: http://www.mullgenealogy.co.uk Isle of Islay: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~steve/islay/data.htm Of course, at the Tiree Gathering in Guelph, we will have mainly Tiree genealogy resources available for people to do look ups in. But we will also have some Mull, Coll and Islay resources available.
