Frank, and Jean Campbell of Palmetto, Florida, is a descendant of Tiree re: Campbell, Cameron, McLean will be attending the Gathering. Frank will recite his poem and will be giving a Scottish Heritage talk (with a humorous angle). Thanks Frank! www.tireegathering.com > register today. As of writing 65 families from Tiree, Scotland, UK, USA and Canada have registered = 100+ people. No doubt many more families will register in the weeks / months to follow with many registering the weekend of who are local to the area and the "Bruce" taking time from their chores on the farms and businesses to come to Guelph for the day(s). Don't forget to bring your talents to the ceilidhs at the Boathouse on Friday night, Gazebo in Royal City Park on Saturday afternoon and at the Legion on Saturday night, ......song, dance, pipes, story, poem, craft, etc. and your photographs, books, family tree, etc. for your own table top presentation. Please . . . make the volunteer organizers' tasks easier....register today! 30 seats left on the bus, maybe fewer if we go with a smaller bus . . .let me know ASAP re: Sunday, July 25, 2004..."Tour to the Bruce"! To Guelph, you say? It's the 'Gathering' of Scots from the Isle of Tyree, From over North America have come for a spree. Where we'll dance and we'll sing and meet yin an' a' Even talk of our 'Tree', but we'll still have a ba'. At Guelph, you say! The Isles of the West are all calling out, the 'Gathering' is near Hark! All Tirisdeachs the message is clear. From Canna and Eig, from Rhum and from Coll But Tyree, she stands out as the loveliest of all. Near Guelph, you say! Who'll be there, did you ask? Pray let me tell, Why there's Mckinnon, McDougall, Mclean and Camp-bell, There's Anderson, Cameron, MacDonald, and Piper, And a host of others a' canny decipher. A' at Guelph, you say! The fortunate expatriates who still venture forth And enjoy the return to the land of their birth. The other 'Tirisdeachs who are not so hap-less Will all meet at the 'Gathering'- may the Good Lord Bless. At Guelph, you say!.
