Based on the recent suggestion* given on this list for finding male Tyree relatives in Mull at the time of the 1841 census (June 7-8), and thanks to a generous census lookup on the Mull list, I may have found my Alexander McDonald from Heanish. If it is him then he would likely be with others from Heanish. Does anyone recognize a possible Heanish relative in these households? __________ Details of one household (21) with a possible Alex and two neighboring households in the parish of Kilfinichen and Kilvickeon. Darryl * "The 1841 Secret: Here's a great clue when searching for your Tiree ancestors: If you think they should be in the 1841 Tiree Census, but can't find them there, or can only find a part of the family, especially with the men and older boys missing, then look in the Mull 1841 census. Particularly the areas of Mull called Ardtun and Knocknafenaig which were full of Tiree peat cutters on the day the Census was taken. Look in the families that are quite large and have many unrelated folk with various surnames living with them that day.
