First a question. In several Roll Call Reports I have noticed reference to ancestors who departed Tyree on "The Charlotte." The date stated in at least two instances is June 30, 1849. I have a copy of the first page of a document called "List of Passengers per Charlotte for Montreal June 20, 1849." This is not a huge discrepancy in date, but I assume these references are to the same sailing. I will have my copy of this document with me in Guelph should anyone care to peruse it. DONALD MCLEAN AND WIFE MARY MCCAULRIG had a daughter Marion McLean born January 7, 1668 at Ballwilline, Tyree Marion McLean married Neil McFarlane (born about 1762 at Grinall) on August 5, 1786 at Grinall, Tyree Their children: John 11/2/1787 Grinall, Tyree Ann 4/12/1789 " Catharine 4/24/1791 " Catharine 7/21/1793 Killkennethberg, Tyree Flora * 9/6/1795 " John 9/10/1797 " Ann 12/8/1799 " *Flora McFarlane married Hugh Cameron (born 4/12/1789, father Duncan) 9/1/1819 at Balevullin, Tyree Their children: John 6/7/1820 Duncan 1/25/1822 Neil * 4/5/1824 Catharine 8/3/1826 Marion 10/13/1828 Christina 2/17/1831 Donald 6/5/1833 John 12/9/1835 Flora Cameron (The Widow Cameron who was given 10 p by the Duke of Argyll upon arriving in Montreal according to the dole list) with her children John (the 1st), Neil, Catharine, Marion and John (the 2nd) left Tyree aboard the Charlotte bound for Montreal on June 20, 1849. It is assumed that her husband Hugh died prior to their sailing but no record of his death has yet been found. Also no record of her children Duncan or Donald. Title on the "dole" list says" List of Poor Emigrants per ship "Charlotte" for Montreal who are to Receive the amount opposite their respective names." Received of I rom - Payment At the bottom of the page 16 August 1849. * Neil Cameron Married Margaret Thornhill April 15, 1857 at Culross, Ontario Margaret was born July 18, 1836 in Ireland Their children: Born Died John 3/19/1858 2/29/1944 Duluth Minnesota Robert 5/6/1859 5/13/1926 Duluth Minnesota Margaret Jane 2/21/1861 unknown Hugh 6/22/1864 2/9/1929 Duluth Minnesota Flora 2/9/1873 12/22/1950 Duluth Minnesota Neil Cameron died in Proctor Minnesota on 1/16/1909 and is buried in Oneota Cemetery, Duluth Minnesota Margaret Thornhill Cameron died in Duluth Minnesota 11/12/1904 and is buried in Oneota Cemetery, Duluth Minnesota. Flora Cameron married John Humphrey, their son Neil Cameron Humphrey married Jessie Cooper and their daughter is Barbara Humphrey My cousin, Marcy Ann Cameron Birch who will also be at the Gathering is the grandchild of Flora Cameron's brother John.
