Babs, I know, flying seems like cheating. I feel I have to arrive by sea to truly honour my ancestors. I was wondering where to stay in Oban. Thanks for the suggestion. One year I was at a B&B, but a 7:00am departure requires you to be out of the house pretty early. One year I stayed on the ferry itself, though it was noisy when the cars started loading! Wonder if CalMac still offers this? (That was 20 years ago.) Hi Listers, We're taking the "50 minute hop in a scary little airplane" so wont be able to stay at the Harbour View. As we haven't booked any accommodation in Glasgow, we'd appreciate some recommendations. Thanks, Gail

Hi Babs, Have you booked your flight yet? Believe me, there is no time to sleep on the ferry boat. You will not want to miss one minute of the scenery.
