Hi Gail, Hey, yeah it is evening over there already. Early afternoon here. Not sure if anyone can answer your question yet. Which kind of research are you wanting, genealogy records or finding ancestral crofts around the Island? For genealogy records, under normal circumstances, you would be referred to the Tiree Archive. But with so many of us going, and the Archive being a small space with a small (but VERY knowledgeable staff), I'm not sure what arrangements will be made about accessing their services during the Homecoming. There's some talk happening about a separate "genealogy room" being made available to us for the whole week where we can display our family trees and network with other folk and search paper transcriptions of old records. Even maybe broadband access, which would make for fast searches on the world-wide LDS site, as well as Keith Dash's Tiree genealogy site and the Mull and Islay genealogy sites. I think that sounds like an excellent way to enhance the limited time each person will get at the Archive, don't you? Anyone else going to Tiree, that has any other suggestions about encouraging genealogy discoveries while we're there? Or even before we get there? Post them here, and I'll make sure that Liz gets them.
