Hi Babs, Nope, haven't been to Europe at all, far less isolated Tiree and Mull. Haven't even been to Bruce County, Ontario, where most of my Tiree folk pioneered in the 1850's. (Tenth of Kincardine McDougalls, Clarks, McLeans, etc.) Don't feel bad for not knowing that. I might talk like I know something about Tiree, but really all I know about is Tiree genealogy, i.e. I know how to research dead people on the Internet. However, I have become quite adept at that, so even my relatives, some of whom have already been to Tiree, are happy to let me be the keeper of the Family Tree, and invent their history for them. (and don't anyone try to tell me that genealogy is not an act of re-creating family history!) BUT, in defense of myself, I did put over 8,000 kms on my car (that's 5,000 miles to you) last summer visiting Tiree descendants in Western Canada, both alive and dead. Had a marvellous time, met so many interesting Tiree folk and visited many forgotten souls in the cemeteries. Hallelujah for stone markers, still standing after all these years. So, tell me that counts for something, eh? Oh, and if Glenda has her way, yes we will be on the May 20 ferry. Louise -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
