You said that Mary was the daughter of Hugh McKinnon but I have the following in my marriages file: Dec 26 1883 Osprey Township Ontario Vital Statistics ref no 003768 (1883) John McIntyre, age 33, religion Congregational, farmer, residence Mariposa, born Canada, parents Alexander and Mary McIntyre to Mary McKinnon, age 24, religion Presbyterian, residence Osprey, born Canada, parents Neil and Margaret McKinnon Witnesses: Neil McKinnon of Osprey and Anne McKinnon of Osprey. minister Rev Alex McDonald I believe the Hugh McKinnon you mentioned had a brother Neil. Was she raised by Hugh? I will check some other files but thought I would let you know this first so you could tell me why you thought her father was Hugh. Elaine ====================================================== (the Source for Mary's Parents is the write up for her death in the newspaper) Mom's scrap book - Newspaper clipping: Mary McIntyre After a short illness Mary McKinnon, widow of the late John McIntyre, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs Bernard Hall, Cresswell, on Sunday, April 27th in her 90th year. She was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Hugh McKinnon of Osprey, near Collingwood, where she lived prior to her marriage to the late John McIntyre. Following her marriage she lived most if her years in this vicinity. She was an active member of Cresswell Presbyterian Church until her health prevented her from leaving her home. She was a devoted mother and always had a warm welcome for neighbours and friends. The funeral service was held from her daughter's home, Tuesday, April 29th at 2.30 p.m. and was conducted by Rev. Mr Racham of Manilla. The beautiful floral tributes gave silent testimony of the esteem in which she was held. The pallbearers were neighbours of the deceased : Messrs. Fred Broad, Murray Gordon, Hugh Grant, Robert Wood, Donald McPhaden and John Murray. Interment was in the Scotch Cemetery, Brock. She is survived by one son Dougold, of Mimico, one daughter, Maude, with whom she resided, and five grandchildren and one great grandchild (((That one was me))) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------ I have never heard any more from Elaine. Keep in touch. Shirley
