I am trying to find information on Archibald McIntyre who married Catherine Lamont in 1837 in Tiree. Their children born in Tiree were Alexander (b.l838), Neil (b.1843), John (b.1845), Donald (b.1848), and Hugh (b. 1853) born in Osprey, Ontario, Canada. Hugh was my grandfather. I found the marriage and birth information on the IGI on LDS web site. I know John, Donald, and Hugh moved to Umatilla County, Oregon and are buried there. I believe Archibald died in Osprey in 1862 and Catherine died approx. 1860 in Osprey. I do not have any information about Alexander or Neil. I have death certificates for Donald and Hugh and both list Catherine Lamond or Lambert as mother, but Hugh's death certificate states Alex as father and John's father is illegible. I would appreciate any information about possible connections to this family. Barb

Barb: I have run across this family as a result of my research on my McKinnon ancestors who came from Tiree and settled in Osprey township about 1850. My McIntyre ancestors are also from Tiree but settled in Mariposa township, Victoria Co., Ontario also about 1850. From the Tiree register I have, in addition to the John b. 1845 you mention, I also have a John McIntyre, sone of Archibald McIntyre and Catherine Lamont, born in 1841. I presume that he died young and the name "John" reused for another son. I have the marriage of Archibald McIntyre to Catherine Lamont as haven taken place 20 December, 1837. From the register I have Catherine Lamont as being born 9 March, 1816, in Cornaigmore, baptised 20 March 1816, the daughter of John Lamont and Mary McIntyre. John Lamont of Balevulin and Mary McIntyre of Corningmore were married 17 May, 1815. There is a Mary McIntyre born in Corningmore in 1792, the daughter of Dougand McIntyre and Ann McDonald, but there are a couple of other Mary McIntyres born on the island in the right timeframe so I cam unsure if this is the Mary McIntyre that married John Lamont. My gg grandfather Alexander McIntyre, born 1801, is a brother of the Mary McIntyre born in Corningmore in 1792. Regards, Deane McIntyre
