I have their letter head from 2002 and it is given as an.iodhlann@dial.pipex.com I suspect from your information that this is now changed but you could try your address with the correct spelling of iodhlann. Dear Sarah, Thank you for your quick answer on Catherine BLACK. To answer a few questions; Catherine's birthdate is still in question. In at least 2 census returns she gives an age that would result in an 1832 or 1833 birth. However, her husband gives her age at the birth of one of her children, such that she would have been born in 1830. I haven't found her christening yet or her death record. She was raised by an aunt and uncle, (we have been told he was a brother to her father) because both her parents died young leaving 4 young children. It seems like it must have been a very bad illness or something like that to take both parents. I have no idea how they died. The children's names were Catherine, Margaret, Christine and Lauchlan. I haven't found any birth or christening dates for them either so the names may not be correct. Anyway the story goes that the aunt and uncle moved up to Inverness where Catherine worked in the wollen mills. When her aunt and uncle left for Canada she stayed in Scotland. Somehow she got to the Midlothian area and thats where she met her husband, George YOUNG (b.1826). I don't know the aunt and uncle's names. I think she must have had relatives in the Midlothian area though and maybe that's why she went there. Possibly the relatives name was BLACK. All big question marks. I hope some of this all helps. You're the only one so far that seems to be familiar with where Bunessan is so that gives me hope. The Arlington where I live is way over in Washington state, USA. It's on the west coast not too far inland from the Pacific Ocean. I'm told that our weather here is very much like the weather in northern England and southern Scotland. Yes, I agree that we should not lose touch. It would be wonderful to find a match somewhere along the line. Dear Sarah, Sorry I'm so late answering but thank you for your inquiry. I have very lttle info on my BLACK family. My g grandmother was Catherine BLACK born b. abt 1833 in Bunessan, Isle of Mull. Her father's name was given as Lauchlan BLACK and mother was Isobell MacDougall but there are questions abt both those names now.
