Dear Mr. Hyndman, In answer to your inquiry of June 14, 2002 From the Duke of Argyll's personal Census of Kintyre in 1792. From the index of places is shown : LAGGAN, Parish of Kilchousland. Sorry ,but there are no HYNDMAN surnames shown living on this farm in 1792 However on farm DRUM GARVE which is shown to be adjacent to farm LAGGAN is shown a tenant named MARY HYNDMAN AGE 60 Also a John Blue age 65,William Blue age 20,Janet Blue age18,& Barbara Blue age 14 So Mary must be John Blue's wife As farm CULINTRACH is not shown in this census then it was not part of the Duke of Argyll's property in 1792 The surnames McINNES & McMILLAN are shown on several farms on the Duke's property.
