    3. My great great grandmother Margaret MACFARLANE was born in 1809 in Lochgilphead, Argyll. In March 1830 she married in Duddingston, Midlothian Joseph GREATOREX born 1806 in Duffield, Derbyshire. A baptism for Margaret which would most fit the criteria is 25 Dec 1809 in South Knapdale, Argyll, parents Dancan MacFARLANE and Ann KERR. a Duncan MacFARLANE bap 1785 Kilfinan, married 1808 Ann or Annie KERR bap 1772, Kilfinan, Argyll. Joseph GREATOREX was recorded on his daughter's marriage certificate as a soldier, and in the 1851 census as a groom - the family obviously moved around considerably as the birth places of their children in the 1851 census are listed as - Robert - born 1835 - Kildare, Ireland Elizabeth - born 1836 - Christchurch, Hampshire Catherine - born 1841 - Dublin, Ireland George - born 1843, Everton, Lancashire. This 1851 census is the only census that I have found that records the family. Their daughter Elizabeth born in 1836 in Christchurch married William NICHOL, and their family appears in the 1861 census in Everton, Lancashire. They and their family moved to Australia in 1866. I have extensive records on Elizabeth and her descendants, but would greatly appreciate any help or advice that anyone could offer in tracking down the remaining family of Margaret MacFARLANE and Joseph GREATOREX or of Margaret's parents. If anyone is related to any of these families, I would love to hear from you. Daph Heiner in sunny Queensland, Australia.
