Many places and things in states are named Kenmore. On TV last nite, the X-Files were in Kenmore NY. Sears has an appliance line named Kenmore. Recently it was said that George Washington slept at Kenmore, the house of his sister. Some of the earliest McCalls are from Kenmore Scotland on Loch Fyne. Evan McColl, the gaelic poet, was born at Kenmore in 1808. Sir John McCall was born at Kenmore in 1520 . When writers are unable to determine where a McCall ancestor came from, they often suggest Loch Fyne. The spelling of the surname suggests that McCalls at Kenmore came from Bute according to George Black's,Surnames of Scotland.
